4 Months Old on 5-23-09

KAYLIE (LEFT) TAYLOR (RIGHT) ON 5-24-09

THIS PHOTO AND THE NEXT 6 PHOTOS WERE SHOT BY A FRIEND OF MINE, LYNN DALY. SHE CAME TO THE HOUSE A COUPLE MONTHS AGO AND TOOK THESE OF OUR FAMILY.

The girls turned 4 months old on 5-23-09. They are very alert and have started making lots of noises. They went for their 4 month check up and shots. Taylor is 12lbs 4oz (25th percentile) and 23 1/2 inches long (25th %). Kaylie is 11lbs 7oz. (10th %) and 24 1/2 inches (50th %). The babies are on the regular baby chart and not the preemie chart now so those are percentile's of full term babies. Kaylie is beginning to be a happier baby. She smiles alot more. Roxy, one of our 3 dogs, likes to cuddle with Kaylie. We have to watch Kaylie though because she has already taken two fists full of Roxy's hair out. Roxy luckily didn't do a thing but look at me with sad eyes. The photo of Kaylie in her bib is from last night. We fed the girls cereal last night for the first time. Kaylie ate alot of it but Taylor cried the whole time so we ended up just giving her formula. The girls put on their bathing suits for the first time and we stuck their feet in the ocean. As you can see from the look on their faces, they weren't very fond of the water. Neale's mom went home this morning. She was a great help to us and we really appreciate all she has done for us and the girls. It has been a real blessing having both her and my mother to take care of the girls
when they were so small. The girls start daycare on Monday.

Mothers Day and girls at 16 weeks

We celebrated our first Mothers Day by going to lunch with Neale and the girls and then to dinner with Neale, the girls and with my mother. We tried to make some hand and footprint sets in plaster and that did not work out too well. The girls did not like it and we finally gave up. My mom just went back home to enjoy retirement and we will miss her. Neale's mom is here for 2 weeks and then the girls go to daycare.
The girls are really changing! Taylor is the happiest baby on the planet. She smiles and giggles and loves to imitate me. Kaylie can imitate me by waving her hand which is pretty impressive. The have slept through the night 5 or 6 times. Nights are definitely getting much easier. Kaylie is a little happier and less fussy lately. She smiles a little more. The girls are so much fun. We are loving every minute with them. It is so rewarding to have them respond to you. They are starting to show a little jealousy. If I talk to one baby, the other one will sometimes cry until I acknowledge them too. Taylor is finally getting hair growing back in on the top of her head and Kaylie is losing the hair on the top of her head. So far all hair that has come back in on both babies is still red.

This Day Goes Down In History 5-6-09

The girls slept through the night!!! They went to bed at 9:30 and didn't get up until 6:30 this morning. Very exciting!!!!!!! I was working until past midnight so I still didn't get sleep but just the thought of it has made my day.

My dad took these photos of our family in Charleston on our 4 year anniversary and the 3 month birthday of the babies.
