It snowed Friday night!!! It was completely gone by noon Saturday but we were excited. It never snows here. The girls got to go out in the snow. They were okay if we were holding them or holding their hands but they weren't too sure what to think of it. Taylor was a little scared and wanted to go back inside. She needs a lot of TLC.

Saturday we went to Daniel Island, SC to visit my childhood friend (Shannon) and her husband (Elias) and daughter (Maia). I took some photos of their family and we stayed and had lunch with them and then headed for home. It was great to see Shannon and to catch up. Some of my best childhood memories were made with her (and yes I did take tons of photos even then but they are much too embarrassing to upload). Baby Maia was born with a heart defect, HLHS, and has already had to have a couple surgeries on her heart. She has spent a good portion of her
life in the hopital. People often tell me that I must be Superwoman to work as much as I do and have twins. Believe me....Shannon is much more deserving of that nickname. She told me one of her favorite sayings (she believes it was Mother Teresa who said it) is that God won't give us more than we can handle. I believe she is right.

Kaylie is walking a good bit (when she feels like it). The girls have said Dada, Mama, Sissy, Sit (which sounds like something else), Hi, Hey, Doggie, and several other words they will say that just surprise me. They are really developing a vocabulary. What are they up to? They clap, love to give kisses and hugs, Kaylie shakes her head no, Taylor has started "reading" books out loud, Taylor is almost ready to walk, they both love to be upside down...especially Kaylie...she giggles her little head off. They are almost able to turn off the lights and Taylor can shut the pantry door. I walk around carrying one baby in each arm so I often don't have a free arm to turn off lights or shut doors....(I usually use my toes/feet to pull doorknobs to shut doors and my elbow to turn out lights) but I am about to have some helpers. The girls have almost got it down pat. The thing I find the sweetest is that if I say "Go kiss sissy" they know exactly what that means. They go over to each other and put their foreheads together and kiss or hug and they just smile at each other and giggle. It just melts my heart. Before they go to bed every night they give each other kisses too.

George and Cissy came over on Valentine's evening to watch the girls so Neale and I could go eat sushi for dinner. We appreciate it. We don't get many date nights.

Life is amazing....every day brings something new and we couldn't be happier.

Kaylie Dancing

The girls opened their Valentine's Day shirts from Grandma and Grandpa Pettigrew early so they could wear them in photos taken at daycare today. We love them. The girls came home from daycare with their hair like this. I am not sure if the people taking the photos did it or if the daycare people did it. Kaylie was a dancing machine so I took so photos to try to show you some of her moves. They crack me up!

1 Year Stats

Kaylie - 17 lbs (less than 5%) 30 inches (75%) head size 17 3/4 (50%)

Taylor - 18 lbs 4 oz. (10%), 28 inches (10%) head size 18 1/4 inches (75%) - (From her daddy)

The doctor says the girls are very skinny but perfectly fine just the way they are. She said if they eat until they are full and are happy then there is no need to do anything different.

A good Dr. report for their one year old checkup!

Kissing Sissy

They think kissing is hilarious
Taylor at bath time

The girls are definitely getting harder to keep up with but they are also lots of fun. They are all over the place and full of energy. They fight with each other all the time. They pull hair, pull the other one down to the ground, get jealous of each other and cry.....BUT they also giggle at each other and love each other to death. I put them in the Pack and Play while I shower and get ready in the morning and a couple days ago I got out of the shower and they were standing up hugging and trying to kiss each other (but they haven't learned how to kiss exactly so they have their mouths open as wide as possible) and giggling at each other. It was precious and I didn't have my camera. I did catch a kissing photo above today but they were in my lap when they were kissing so it isn't such a great photo. They are usually REALLY happy. They dance and love music. Kaylie is really hyper. She jumps up and down and is so funny to watch dance. If there is music - she is dancing. She got a play horse for Christmas and has just now decided she likes it. She gets on it all by herself and bounces up and down and laughs. Of course...they do have their tantrums....for some reason Kaylie throws her head backwards to the ground and Taylor throws herself forward to the ground. I try to ignore them when they do it but sometimes it is hard to do. They do it if I take too long to get their food, when I leave Taylor at daycare, if I pay too much attention to one of them or if one is in my lap and not the other.....etc. But they are also very sweet girls. They love to give hugs and kisses. Every day is a new adventure and Neale and I are enjoying every minute of it.
