I am always going to be your baby

Tonight when I tucked Kaylie into bed she told me she had to tell me a secret. She whispered in my ear, "Even when I am all grown up I am always going to be your baby, forever and ever." She is right about that! I love my girls! Yesterday Kaylie said "I can't believe how so much I love you." I have some cute photos of the girls to hopefully post soon.

Learning how to ride our bikes

Wearing mommy's glasses

The girls got bikes from Santa. The bike photos are from January. Kaylie picked up riding really quickly. Taylor is having a harder time with it but her sissy is being a big helper. Taylor fell on her bike so Kaylie is now letting Taylor ride her bike "forever and ever so she doesn't fall and hurt herself again". Kaylie even pushes her on the bike to help her. It is amazing how sweet and what a great "big sister" Kaylie is. The girls don't know who is older. I am trying to keep it that way so it is one less thing for them to fight about. I have noticed that when you have twins people ask you some crazy questions and say some crazy things. People I don't know ask me if I did in vitro or how I had twins. They ask me if the red hair came from the milkman because neither myself or Neale have red hair.  I was just at the grocery store a couple days ago and the man bagging the groceries asked who was older. I told him they are the "same age" because I didn't want the girls to overhear me. He then asked me how far apart they are and I told him one minute (c-section). He then said, "Wow, you must be a Pez dispenser. You just shoot them out."....LOL.....oh, my.

The girls still love to dress up and have dance parties. Their new thing is to jump and dance on the bed and sing "Shake it! Shake it!" It cracks me up but I have no idea where they got that from.

Taylor said something mean to Kaylie when I was driving so I told her to stop being mean. She then said,"Mom, can we have a talk?" I said yes. She said,"Next time you are driving and I say something mean to Kaylie how about you just say 'That is okay'. Nice try Taylor! Her new thing is "How about we have a talk."

Tonight was "Daddy Date Night" so Neale took the girl's out to dinner. I think they had a big time. The girls signed their names to all of their Valentines for class. They are going to miss their school party Thursday so I let them pick out a big Valentine's Day Cookie to take to school tomorrow.

Life here is great. February is slow for me so I have actually taken time to go to the gym, had lots of dance parties with the girls, and just spent more time with my family and less time working. I am going to try to keep that going throughout 2013. Time is flying by and it amazes me that my sweet babies are already 4 years old.

Girls Just Want to Have Fun

Things are never boring in our house! The girls love to sing, dance, and be silly! We have dance parties and the girls listen to music on my Ipad and sing and dance around the room. The photos above are of bedtime that turned into a 2 hour party! The girls were playing different "princess games" (that they made up as they went along) and dancing. We had a blast!

I have mentioned before that the girls take turns misbehaving. Well now Kaylie is behaving and doing everything we ask. She picks up her toys, voluntarily gives away her favorite foods and snacks to Taylor, and shares her toys with Taylor. She does it and says, "See Mommy, I am a good girl." Taylor is in a phase where if you want her to do one thing she is going to do the exact opposite. She tries to boss Kaylie around. Kaylie says, "Mom I am not going to listen to Taylor because she is being mean. I am not going to answer her." Taylor is as sweet as she can be most of the time but she is a very strong willed and independent girl. She wants to do everything by herself and she wants it to be her way. Kaylie actually got mad yesterday because Taylor was being good. She said, "No mommy, I am the good girl not Taylor." (and then Kaylie started misbehaving....at least they usually don't both do it at the same time)

Taylor loves to be funny. She loves to sing and dance. She has a very different sense of style. The girls have been picking out their own clothes every day since they were 2. Taylor will throw together some really funky outfits. It is funny because she really has had her own style since she age 2. She hates when I sing in the car. She likes for things to be orderly and her way. She flips her hair when she talks to you or if you compliment her. It is the cutest thing!

Kaylie is going out of her way to do everything right. She follows the rules. She wears her heart on her sleeve. Back in the summer we had a friend over to play and Taylor and the friend told Kaylie that she wasn't a princess. Kaylie still talks about that all the time and how it hurt her feelings. She tries to hold things in but then she just bursts into tears. She also loves to dance. She loves her sister and gives her lots of hugs and kisses even though she usually gets shoved away.

I love my sweet babies....and even though they are 4 they will ALWAYS be my babies.

Conversations with a 4 year old

Kaylie and Taylor go to a Christian daycare so they often ask questions about God. The other day Taylor was talking about Heaven. Here is how the conversation went -

T - "Mommy do all people go to Heaven?"
Me - "Yes, as long as you are good one day you will go to Heaven. Everyone will go to Heaven sometime but hopefully not until you are really old."
T - "Well is there a potty in Heaven? What if I have to go to the bathroom?"
Me - "Honey I am sure there are potties in Heaven."
T - "Well I don't want you to go to Heaven before me."
Me - "Well I probably will go to Heaven before you but it hopefully won't be for a long, long time. Not until I am really old."
T - "Well I don't want you to go. What if you are in Heaven and I NEED you?"
I paused because the question tugged at my heart so she kept asking.
T - "Mommy, what if you go to Heaven and I NEED you? What will I do if I NEED you?"
Me - "Well honey I will always be there for you and you could just talk to me like you talk to God."
T - "Well mommy, how will you hear me? Are you going to bring your cellphone with you?"

We are 4!

My 4th year making a cake for the girls. Kaylie chose Ariel.
I did not make Taylor's cake (obviously). It was amazing! Taylor loves Belle.
And of course we had to have a birthday cake for school too. Being 4 is a big deal.

We tried skating for the first time at our birthday party.

I can't believe my sweet girls are 4! They are growing up way too quickly. I really don't know where time has gone. I am so sad not to have babies anymore. I love this age though. I am trying to enjoy the baby voices, adorable comments, funny things they say, and sweet hugs and kisses as long as I can. On her birthday Kaylie asked me, "Well mommy am I still going to be your baby?" The girls are so precious. I have lots to catch up on so I will blog more real soon.
