Making Momma Proud

Look at my baby Taylor taking her pretend photos with her toy camera. Way to make momma proud!

Look at my teethies!
Playing with a toy from The Bentons.

Taylor actually found Kaylie's pacifier and handed it to her!!!! I was shocked and proud. What a sweet girl.

Kaylie and Taylor have figured out how to escape the blockade we created in the living room. They both stand side by side and push the ottoman until they are free!

I'm walking!

I can do this.

Back in the Swing of Things

Best friends forever

I love singing into the microphone.

It has been a little crazy but my posting will be more regular again starting now. Christmas was crazy, then the girls were sick, then I was REALLY sick, and then I went to Nashville for a photography convention. I had a great time and learned a lot but I am beyond happy to be back home with my family. Home is definitely where my heart is! Kaylie is really starting to walk well. I picked her up from daycare yesterday and she walked a long way to get to me. I gave the girls their first bath together yesterday in the big bathtub. They had a good time playing with their toys and splashing water. Taylor was scared to splash the water but she really wanted to. She would slap her hand like she was about to splash the water and stop right before her hand hit the water. It was cute to watch. She was brave enough to do it by the end. Kaylie kept standing up and I would tell her "No, sit down" and she would listen to me every time. It is so amazing to have them understand me now. Before I always just kind of talked assuming that they really have no clue what I am saying but no it is really evident that they do. I put their jackets on them yesterday and took them outside to sit in the grass for a couple minutes. I feel like we never get out of the house so I thought they might like it but they didn't. They did not like the grass and they didn't really like wearing shoes either. They have to wear shoes now that they walk and they have never worn them before and they aren't quite sure how to move in them. So pretty much they just sat in the grass and cried so we went back inside. I am ready for some warm weather. Yesterday we were riding in the car and Kaylie started to get fussy so I made a funny noise by sticking out my tongue and blowing. Kaylie did it back to me so I did it back to her and then both Kaylie and Taylor did it back to me and we just went back and forth making noises at each other and laughing for about 10 minutes until we got home. I love that they respond it me. It is so rewarding...even if it is something as little as making funny noises at each other. Kaylie loves to give me hugs. She comes up to me and gives me a hug and puts her head on my shoulder. It is the sweetest thing. Neale did a fabulous job of keeping them while I was gone. George and Cissy were kind enough to come down and help him out. Taylor had a double ear infection and wasn't feeling so great. We are getting ready for their birthday party on the 23rd. It is hard to believe they are already going to be 1. I will post photos later tonight hopefully. I tried to last night but had some computer issues so photos will follow soon.

1st Christmas

Yes, those presents are all Kaylie and Taylor's. They enjoyed Christmas and even got into opening their presents. We had a great visit with The Stovalls, The Pettigrews, Aunt Cathy, and George. Unfortunately I think we all are now sick. Kaylie is really enjoying her toys she can walk with while holding onto them. She takes some steps by herself but hasn't mastered walking yet. Taylor is now standing and walking while holding onto something. She puts her hand out to greet people. Neale calls it the "fist pump" or "knuckles" but I think she thinks she is the Queen and we are supposed to kiss her hand. Either way it is pretty cute. She thinks it is funny. She also likes to touch heads with people and give them kisses (which are all opened mouth kisses which might explain why we are all now sick). She also gives her stuffed animals and dolls kisses. She can say "Dada" "Dad" "Mama" "Sissy" "Doggy" and she is pretty good at repeating words that you say. Christmas morning she got us up at 5:30 so I brought her into our bed. She was leaning over Neale saying "Dada, Dad, Dad, Dada" and finally he woke up and took her and then she leaned over to me and started saying "Mama, Mama, Mama" it was pretty cute and also pretty evident we weren't going back to sleep. It amazes me how full of personality they are at 11 months. Kaylie is a mama's girls and wants lots of TLC. She likes to give hugs and wants to be held. The girls get really jealous if you hold one of them and not the other one. I am trying to teach them that we take turns and sometimes they seem to understand and sometimes they cry. If one is eating the other one wants to eat. If one is getting hugs, the other one wants hugs. I definitely need more arms. I took them to the grocery store for the first time this week. You take for granted being able to do things like that but with 2 babies there is no way for me to push a cart and 2 babies at the same time. My trip to the grocery store didn't go very well and I won't be trying it again any time soon. We spend alot of time at the house because it is quite an event trying to get us all some place. I can't really take them both to run errands or shop or anything. Kaylie weighs 17lbs 4 oz and Taylor weighs 17lbs 14 oz. and by the time you add their car seats I can hardly walk and carry them both. I can't wait for the weather to get warmer so we can play outside of the house. Taylor loves music. She has a little guitar and she thinks she is a rockstar. Both girls dance when they hear music. They are such happy babies. We have had a wonderful year and we are truly blessed.

Roxy and Taylor. Taylor loves to pet the dogs. She laughs at them all the time and has learned to be gentle with them.

Kaylie is a walking machine with the help of this toy. She loves it.

Granddad Stovall and Taylor bumping foreheads. Taylor thinks it is hilarious.

When Kaylie is in the pack and play Taylor crawls over to her and they touch hands. Taylor sits there and says "Sissy, Sissy, Sissy"

1st Christmas Photos

Here are the girls' 1st Christmas photos. Kaylie cried the whole time so it wasn't an easy shoot to do. I know everyone thinks their own children are adorable but I really just can't get enough of my babies. I adore them! Kaylie took her first steps while not holding onto anything on Wednesday. Taylor won't be far behind.

She wants to do everything her sister does. They amaze me everyday.
Taylor has 5 teeth now! Kaylie has 2. They are saying more sounds, starting to hug and snuggle...and at dinner Kaylie even reached to hold my hand. They are the sweetest babies. They went to see Santa. Taylor cried. She is scared of everything so she really did not like him. Kaylie was fine until her sister started crying and then Kaylie decided she better start crying too.

Sneak Peak on Christmas

This is Taylor in a sneak peak of what the Christmas photos look like. Neale and I took the girls to the studio this morning. I know I do this for a living but when it is your own children...it is WORK! Kaylie cried the entire time she was on the backdrop. All but one of these photos are of Taylor because Kaylie was all over the place the day I took photos. By the time I put her down and pick up the camera...she is long gone and into something she shouldn't be into. We had a great Thanksgiving with my family and Neale and I even got to spend the night in Columbia and go to the USC game (did I mention we beat Clemson!). I came back with a stomach flu and then a cold so I have been sick and working to try to get all my Chrismas orders out. But I will be better about posting photos soon. On Thursday morning I went into the girls' room to get them out of bed and Taylor was standing up! That was her first time. Kaylie is really close to walking. She can do it if she holds onto something. The girls fight but they really enjoy playing with each other now. They giggle at each other all the time. It is precious! Very happy......post more soon.

Neale and Taylor (that is dried hair gel in his hair - he would probably be mad I posted it but it is so cute!) He is such a good father. I am so proud of him.
