Grandpa George and Kaylie reading
Happy late birthday to Sister/Aunt Kelley! Taylor's hair is bright red and curly as can be. You should see her right after she gets out of the bathtub. I looked at Neale's baby photos tonight and that is definitely where she got it. His hair was no where near that red but it was full of curls and looked just like Taylor's hair in some of the photos. Kaylie's is wavy when she gets out of the bathtub but it gets straight later in the day. She got her hair from me. Grandpa George added onto our deck and the girls can play outside on it now because there is less of a chance of them falling off. They love it. They pitch a fit when it is time to go back inside. Neale is going to stay home with the girls this week since it is Spring Break at schools and he is now substitute teaching. Fran and Dale are coming to stay with us this week so we are looking forward to their visit. We bought a playhouse for the girls this weekend. When I was little my dad built me a playhouse and I loved it! I thought it was the coolest thing. Hopefully the girls will like theirs. Kaylie likes to climb into things so she will probably like hanging out in it. Taylor likes to open and close things so she will probably be thrilled just opening and shutting the door. Taylor always wants the toy box closed and Kaylie wants it open and she wants to throw all of the toys out of it and climb in it. They actually have this fight quite a bit. And when Kaylie opens the toybox ...Taylor gets so upset and cries her little eyes out. There is always something new...but I am really loving every minute of it.

Kaylie is feeling much better and luckily Taylor never got sick. We went to the beach Saturday but we were a little too optimistic because it may have been 75 degrees but the wind was cold so we didn't last long. The girls had on beach hats and sun glasses but I didn't have my camera. The girls weren't fond of the beach and the sand so hopefully that will change before summer gets here. Kaylie is back to her spunky self. She has developed a sense of humor. She is so funny and she likes to do things to make you laugh. She has the cutest little giggle. Taylor is walking much better. Nana taught her to point to her nose when asked where her nose is. The other day she did something bad and then I gave her a look like she was in trouble and she pointed to her nose because I always praise her when she I ask her where her nose is and she gets it right. I guess she thought that was her get out of trouble card. Kaylie has started "reading" books too. I could listen to their baby babble forever. It is the cutest.

Kaylie was in the Hospital

Kaylie in the hospital with an IV in her arm. She doesn't use a pacifier anymore but we made the exception for the hospital. She was so sad and sat and hugged her bear that the hospital gave her. I couldn't hold her because her fever was too high and they didn't want my body heat transferring to her.
Kaylie feeling punk
But Taylor feels great

She loves her ball...she has learned to roll it back and forth to me

Swinging on the playground
Kaylie was feeling bad all Saturday and Sunday. Her temperature was 104.7 so we took her to the emergency room per our pediatrician's advice. When we got to the hospital it was 104.3 and then it quickly rose to 105 degrees even after having taken Tylenol and Motrin so they admitted her to the hospital. They said they needed to get her fever down quickly so she didn't have a seizure. It was very scary for us. You hate to see your baby so miserable. We spent the night in the hospital and she was given lots of tests and medicine. The emergency room doctor thought she had pneumonia. The hospital doctor said it is either pneumonia, a viral infection or a bacterial infection. They said a bacterial infection could be life threatening so they felt it was necessary to keep her under close watch. Thankfully her temperature has gone down and she got out of the hospital yesterday afternoon. We still don't know what it is that she has. She still isn't feeling good but she is feeling much better than she was. Today she mostly slept. Hopefully she will be back to her normal fiesty and giggly self soon.
Taylor is doing fine. We have been keeping an eye on her to make sure she doesn't get what Kaylie has. Taylor is as sweet as ever but she has developed a nasty habit of hitting. If you tell her no or if she gets mad, she will hit you. So I fuss at her and then she busts out in tears and wants you to hug her. My mom says "Taylor tries really hard to pitch a fit but she really doesn't know how. Kaylie on the other hand has it down pat." The girls love to play ball, read, clap and sing. When I sing they clap no matter how bad I sound...and believe me...it is bad. Taylor called my mom "Nana" for the first time this weekend. The girls are starting to be able to answer my questions by shaking their heads. It is amazing how much they have learned to comprehend and respond to in the past month or two.

We Are So Big

We had a great visit with everyone in Greenville and Neale got to golf while we were away. The girls are growing so fast. These photos were taken in the front yard today. I am so happy that the weather is getting warmer so we can get out of the house. Kaylie holds my hand and walks when I ask her to and also gives me kisses when I ask her to. I don't know why but it really amazes me how much they understand. They are pretty smart. Kaylie sees my camera and quickly turns her head the other direction. It is a game to her. She will peak back around and if I still have my camera up she will quickly turn her head away again. She loves to be with her mama all the time but at the same time she is very independent and strong willed. Both girls are very loving. My favorite thing is all the hugs and kisses I get and I love it when they come sit in my lap or lay their head on my shoulder. It makes me so grateful to be a mother. I really treasure every minute that I spend with them. Taylor is getting better at her balance and will be walking better soon. She is such a sweet baby. Her feelings get really hurt when you fuss at her for doing something she isn't supposed to do so shortly after fussing at her you have to console her because she gets so upset. She wants to make you happy and wants to do the right thing. Kaylie on the other hand thinks it is hilarious when she gets fussed at. She actually laughsand tests what she can get away with. Taylor follows Kaylie around and wants to do what Kaylie does. The girls are still the best of friends which I think is precious.

Woo-Hoo - Taylor Can Walk!...Although I shouldn't be so excited

My memory card reader died so I will have to post photos in the next day or two. George and Cissy were in town last week so we got to see them a good bit. We took the girls to the beach in front of George's condo but it was cold so they were only out there for a minute. The girls are full of personality and this weekend they were out of control. It is our fault because we got them off schedule a little bit.....we won't be doing that again. Our system for keeping them in the living room is now obsolete. They have figured out every escape route possible. The funniest thing is that they team up to push furniture out of the way. They want to be wherever I am. If I am in the kitchen, they will find a way to get into the kitchen. They are in the stage where they want to be with me every second of the day which makes cooking, working or doing anything else really impossible. My editing on the computer has pretty much shifted from 7pm - midnight or 1 in the morning. Otherwise they are at the computer under my feet pulling the mouse, pulling the cords, pushing any buttons on the computer they can reach, etc. I tried to lightly pop their hand when they do it but that didn't work at all. Kaylie just thought that was funny and Taylor just kept doing it. So yesterday I lightly flicked Taylor's hand when she pulled the mouse and she made the saddest little pouty face. She didn't cry but she stuck her bottom lip out and gave me a sad puppy dog look....but it worked for the most part. I move them away from the computer but they keep coming back.....I think we will have to get a "time out" chair. They are too little for it now but it won't be long. Taylor is climbing the stairs. If you turn for one second she is up five stairs and Kaylie is right behind her. Taylor did finally learn to walk! I am excited but it made our lives get even busier if that is possible. Taylor took her first steps last week so there is a lot of chasing going on. The girls are communicating so much now. They really understand a good bit of what we say and are saying a good amount of words. They talk all the time. Taylor loves the dogs....Kaylie not so much. Taylor loves to pet them. She just smiles and laughs. The girls are a lot of work but so much fun. It is amazing how much a 1 year old can understand. They are really a lot smarter than I give them credit for. They are just so funny to watch. Every day brings something new and amazing. The girls and I are looking forward to going to Greenville this coming weekend to see Granddad Stovall and Nana. I think Neale is looking forward to a little relaxing while we are gone.
